14 Years Without Arturo Gatti

On a day like today, but in 2009, the boxer Arturo Gatti was found dead.

When talking about Arturo Gatti, we are talking about a boxer who had a professional career of 16 years, he was IBF Super Featherweight, WBC Super Lightweight and AIB Welterweight world champion. He fought 10 world championship fights, winning 8 and losing only 2 times.

Gatti faced boxing legends like Floyd Mayweather JR and Oscar De La Hoya. Unfortunately, on July 11, 2009, Gatti was found dead in a hotel in Pernambuco, Brazil.

The Brazilian authorities ruled the cause of death as suicide, but to this day it is not known for sure what exactly happened, since there is also the theory that Gatti would have been murdered by his wife.
