Bellator London is set to host the most spectacular and most dangerous event on May 13, at SSE ARENA, WEMBLEY, LONDON, ENGLAND. Also known as the more formal title, Bellator 281.
The card is in the headlines of an interesting welterweight confrontation between Logan Storley and Michael "Venom" Page. Page was originally expected to face undisputed champion Yaroslav Amosov, but the ongoing war in Ukraine forced him to withdraw. Then in June, when the middleweight champion Gigard Moussais will face his latest challenger in Johnny Eblen from Inkas Well, Connecticut.
PAGE VS STORLEY PREVIEW
Storley is winning the first five rounds of his MMA career, when he took a unanimous decision against former title challenger NeimanGracie on February 19 in the Bellator 274 headliner. The 29-year-old Sanford MMA product holds a 13-1 record at the four-time NCAA All-American Wrestling University of Minnesota and as a pro - including an 8-1 mark in the Bellator. His only defeat came in a split vote against Amosov on Bellator 252.
Page has won 20 of his 21 professional competitions, his only blow being against Lima in May 2019. Venom avenged the loss in its last outing, this past October with a separate decision against the former champion in Bellator 267. Other notable victories are against the brilliant British strikers Derek Anderson, Paul Daley, David Reckless and Evangelista Santos.
PAGE VS STORLEY PREDICATION
Bellator London's difficulties should be in favor of Storley. His wrestling lineage and solid stand-up make him a tough nut to break. But I'm sure the page has what it takes to get through.
There is no doubt that the domestic mob, depending on the mentality of the fighters, can be either a major help or a major obstacle. Storley has never competed outside the United States, so it is safe to say that he will be out of his comfort zone.
But predicting the 2022 Bellator London for this fight, it is difficult to say how important it will be. Why? Okay, because we don't have a working frame.
Storley will have to find a way to bring him down inside Brit, and it won't be easy. Fantasies and setups are hard to sell to an incredibly anxious boy. Especially one that will be hard to push back against the jam or cage in the center.
The first choice in my Bellator 281 is Page 2 of KO / TKO in Round 2. I'm sure he'll catch Storley with something dirty and go one step further to fight for the "real" belt.
Bellator 281 co-main
Storley vs. Page is not the only scrap to get excited about. Lyoto Machida vs. Fabian Edwards serves as the co-main on the Bellator 281 fight card, and there is even an appearance by Nottingham’s Paul Daley.
