A star was born 30 years ago today.

30 years ago today in 1993 we saw a young 20 year old puerto rican star born. Felix "Tito" Trinidad KO'ed then IBF welterweight world champion Maurice Blocker. Since the very first bell rang Trinidad went for the KO making it hard on champion Blocker who was knocked out in the second round from Trinidad's famous left hook right hand combo. That night we saw a star being born that went on and dominated the welterweight and superwelterweight divisions, becoming a fan favorite by fighting the best in his day. His impresive resume includes Oscar De La Hoya, Pernel Whitaker, Campas, Fernando Vargas , Blocker, Joppy, Mayorga, Roy Jones Jr and Bernard Hopkins. He is still regarded as one of the best to come out of Puerto Rico.
