Alexander Volkanovski shares his thoughts on UFC 288 Main Event

Alexander Volkanovski, the UFC Featherweight Champion, recently discussed his thoughts on the UFC 288 main event.

Aljamain Sterling, the UFC bantamweight champion, defeated Henry Cejudo over the weekend to successfully defend his 135-pound title. Split-decision was used to beat the resurrected "Triple C" by "Funk Master."

The top two bantamweight competitors both want to move up to 145 pounds. In Cejudo's case, he first stated that he preferred to make a comeback at Featherweight in an effort to become the first-ever three-division champion of the UFC.

'Sugar' challenged Sterling in the Octagon shortly after his victory. 'Funk Master' and 'Triple C' seem to be sticking with the bantamweight class for the time being.

Alexander Volkanovski recently posted a video to his YouTube channel in which he relaxed with a beer while watching Sterling vs. Cejudo. According to 'The Great,' both fighters would require a victory that was far more significant than what UFC 288 offered.

"I think you have to give it to Sterling," Volkanovski said. "Just don't call me out lads. Get a bigger win and call me out next one."

"Sterling would've been getting nervous that day," Volkanovski laughed. "I think that they're gonna give that to Henry, I started thinking Henry was coming up... Yeah, we weren't surprised that Sterling got that decision so I don't know, definitely no robbery or anything like that."

Next, Alexander Volkanovski is anticipated to face Yair Rodriguez and defend his 145-pound championship.
