As the anticipation builds for UFC 301, reigning UFC flyweight champion Alexandre Pantoja remains focused on defending his title, regardless of the opponent. In a recent interview on MMA Fighting’s Trocação Franca podcast, Pantoja discussed the potential challengers for his belt, highlighting undefeated sensation Muhammad Mokaev as a standout candidate.

"I think it makes total sense if he wins," Pantoja stated regarding Mokaev's upcoming fight at UFC Vegas 87.

With an impressive record and a remarkable unbeaten streak, Mokaev has captured attention as a rising star in the flyweight division. Pantoja recognizes Mokaev's talent and sees him as a worthy adversary, particularly given his dominant performances inside the octagon.

"Mokaev is a very talented kid," Pantoja remarked, acknowledging Mokaev's skills and grappling prowess.

While Pantoja acknowledges the potential challenges posed by fighters like Brandon Royval and Manel Kape, he sees Mokaev as a formidable opponent with the potential to make history in the UFC.

"Mokaev has it," Pantoja noted, emphasizing the significance of Mokaev's upcoming bout and its implications for the flyweight division.

As Pantoja prepares for UFC 301, he remains open to facing any opponent, even jokingly expressing willingness to emulate the iconic character Apollo Creed and take on an "unknown fighter" to ensure his participation in the event. With his sights set on defending his title in Rio de Janeiro, Pantoja is eager to showcase his skills and cement his legacy as one of the top fighters in the flyweight division.
