Anthony Joshua accepts Tyson Fury's offer to set up gigantic Heavyweight Title bout

In reaction to being challenged by his fellow British fighter, Anthony Joshua has informed Tyson Fury that he will be prepared to challenge him in December. Oleksandr Usyk was set to face Fury, but the Englishman has switched his focus to his countryman after calling the Ukrainian a "b****ing."

He said in a video posted to twitter “Anthony Joshua, I know you’ve just lost a fight to Usyk and you’re beltless at the moment. I’d like to give you an opportunity to fight me for the WBC heavyweight championship of the world and the lineal championship in the next few months.”

The Ukrainian recently admitted that he has unspecified injuries that will prevent him from competing for the remainder of 2022, which prompted Fury to start looking for a replacement opponent.

Joshua just suffered his second straight loss against Oleksandr Usyk, who defeated him in September 2021 in London through majority decision before triumphing in their rematch in August in Saudi Arabia to clinch the WBA, WBO, and IBF heavyweight titles.

For years, a clash between the two has been termed the "Battle of Britain," and it now seems that it might be imminent. Usyk was meant to be the first to enter the ring to face the "Gypsy King," but it looks like he's holding up Joshua's entrance.

Now that a year-ending matchup is expected, negotiations between the parties may take place. Given the historical rivalry between the two boxers as they compete to be regarded as Britain's best, any battle would be one of the most eagerly anticipated of all time.

Anthony Joshua also replied to Tyson Fury on his official twitter account. He wrote “Yea calm. I don’t do the online discussions just for clout, so if your really about it shout @258mgt. I’ll be ready in December. Khalas,” Joshua said quote tweeting a tweet from Fury’s account calling on Joshua to fight him.

Will the fans get to see the much anticipated matchup between two British powerhouses or is this just another one of Fury’s marketing techniques to stay relevant in the media?
