British heavyweight Anthony Joshua is gearing up for another shot at the undisputed championship, currently held by Oleksandr Usyk. After reviving his career in 2023 with three notable wins following losses to Usyk, Joshua remains ready to face top contenders.
Promoter Eddie Hearn confirmed Joshua’s readiness, stating,
“He’s ready to fight anybody.” Joshua, 34, is keen to reclaim his world title, last held in 2021.
Hearn mentioned potential opponents like Tyson Fury, Filip Hrgovic, Daniel Dubois, Joseph Parker, and Deontay Wilder.
Joshua’s recent victories over Jermaine Franklin, Robert Helenius, and Otto Wallin, along with a swift win against Francis Ngannou, have solidified his comeback. Unlike many top boxers who fight once a year, Joshua’s activity in the ring has been a key factor in his resurgence.
Hearn hinted at a possible September fight for Joshua, potentially headlining a card at Wembley. Joshua could face the winner of the Hrgovic vs. Dubois fight for the IBF heavyweight title. A rematch clause between Usyk and Tyson Fury may lead to Usyk being stripped of the IBF title, which could then fall into Joshua’s hands.
Fans eagerly await Joshua’s return, anticipating another exciting chapter in his career.
