Anthony Joshua On Oleksandr Usyk

Anthony Joshua will be defending his WBA, WBO, and IBF Heavyweight titles against Oleksandr Usyk on September 25th in London. Anthony had lot's to say to Sky Sports about the upcoming bout and what his plans are. "You can either be aggressive, corner - throw everything at him. Or take your time, be clever, then knock him out." Is what Joshua said in terms of his plans. So we can assume he plans to fight defensivley or at least save his aggressive onslaughts towards the later rounds.

Joshua went on to talk about Usyk's footwork, how it's unique and will be troubling for him if anything is to prove challenging in this bout. "Concentration, when you want to punch, you lock in, then make a move. You have to make sure your brain works. That can be mentally fatiguing so I am sharpening the mind so that I can concentrate for the 12 rounds. Also I practice having the ability to punch four times, not just once."

Solid game plan Anthony.

Usyk is undefeated as a lower weight class and will be stepping up to heavyweight to challenge Joshua. This will be very interesting as we've seen dominant fighters like The Last Stylebender get shutdown after climbing into a new weightclass to challenge the champ. Joshua is the heavyweight local, and is used to fighting at that weight. Only time will tell!
