Bellator 301: Stacked Main Card Fighters Hit the Mark at Chicago Weigh-Ins

In the charged atmosphere of anticipation and adrenaline, the official Bellator 301 weigh-ins transpired with every main card fighter successfully meeting their weight requirements, setting the stage for an electrifying event in Chicago.

Headlining the evening is the welterweight championship bout between undefeated champion Yaroslav Amosov and challenger Jason Jackson. Both warriors were the first to step onto the scale and comfortably weighed in under the title limit at 169.6 pounds, signaling their readiness for a captivating showdown.

The co-main event boasts a bantamweight title unification battle featuring champion Sergio Pettis and interim titleholder Patchy Mix. Pettis, after needing the towel, made weight at 135 pounds, while Mix, after an initial miss, successfully hit 135 pounds on his second attempt, cementing the unification bout's official status.

However, the weigh-ins weren’t without some minor hurdles. Keri Melendez, set to face Sabriye Sengul in a women's flyweight contest, initially missed the weight limit at 127.2 pounds but was granted an additional hour for cutting. Additionally, Islam Mamedov, scheduled for a 160-pound contract weight fight against Killys Mota, was 0.4 pounds over the limit. Similar to Melendez, Mamedov was afforded an extra hour, ultimately reaching 159.4 pounds on his second attempt.

The weigh-ins unfolded at the Bellator host hotel in Chicago, with the nearby Wintrust Arena gearing up to host Friday's action-packed event. The main card promises a thrilling spectacle, boasting two title fights, showcasing the epitome of mixed martial arts prowess, all set to be broadcasted live on Showtime.
