Brendan Allen, gearing up to headline UFC Vegas 90 against Chris Curtis on short notice, has his eyes set on avenging a past loss and securing a rematch with Sean Strickland, should he emerge victorious.

The fight between Allen and Curtis comes after Marvin Vettori's injury forced him to withdraw from the bout, presenting Allen with an opportunity to settle a score. In 2021, Allen faced a second-round TKO defeat at the hands of Curtis, making this upcoming fight a chance for redemption.

Speaking to The Schmo, Allen expressed his desire for a rematch with Strickland, the former middleweight champion who previously TKO’d Allen in 2020.

"Man, you never know with the way the division, the way the landscape is, it’s hard to tell but hopefully I can get Sean after this, he seems to be the last one available so if I can’t get the champion then Sean is hopefully what I’m after," said Brendan Allen.

Despite past differences, Allen has reconciled with both Curtis and Strickland.

"I talk to Chris and Sean when I come to the PI if they are there, we chat. Me and Sean squashed out stuff, we are cool. I wouldn’t say we are friends, like best friends, but we are cool. Me and Chris have always been cool," Allen mentioned.

However, Allen's friendly relations outside the Octagon don't diminish his focus inside it. He acknowledges that it's a business and remains determined to perform his job efficiently. With a six-fight winning streak and a recent submission victory over Paul Craig, Allen is confident in his abilities to secure another stoppage win at UFC Vegas 90.

The potential win over Curtis could pave the way for Allen to pursue either a title shot or a number-one contender fight, further solidifying his position in the highly competitive middleweight division.
