A section of the MMA community believed the entire issue was pre-planned after a hectic week in Las Vegas where the organization was forced to rearrange the top three fights of its pay-per-view event due to Khamzat Chimaev's historic weight miss.
Pat Miletich, a former UFC champion, and Schaub were two of many who offered their thoughts. They theorized that there was a plot by the UFC to enhance the card in order to boost pay-per-view demand.
The UFC president attacked Miletich after Tuesday's episode of Dana White's Contender Series, calling him "the dumbest motherf*cker on the planet." White was also made aware of Schaub's own theories, which he claimed "make sense."
The former UFC heavyweight turned podcaster and comedian got personal right away, alluding to a previous Twitter argument with White, and he reiterated his doubt over the organization's official statement on the UFC 279 shakeup.
He wrote “Sorry, we just don’t buy what you’re telling us after lying numerous times but the sheep media you pick to attend events don’t have the balls to call you out,” Schaub wrote. “Just in the recent press conference you were caught lying about extra compensation to the fighters.
“You need a reality check. You’re surrounded by ‘Yes men.’ You’re not special, you’re not original. You’re a low budget Vince McMahon. Every move you make is a copycat of that dude. Only thing you have in common is you’re both on steroids and dress like a*******.
Looks like the beef between Dana White and Brendan Schaub looks far from settled. Do you think Dana White staged some of the UFC 279 drama to get extra pay per views in? Let us know in the comments
