Carlos Ulberg is set to seize a massive opportunity at UFC 303. Originally slated for a co-main event bout against Khalil Rountree, Jamahal Hill now finds himself preparing to face Ulberg after Rountree's sudden withdrawal. The event is scheduled for June 29 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Khalil Rountree announced his withdrawal from the fight due to a failed drug test. The suspension is tied to Dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA), a hormone banned in and out of competition. The news of Rountree’s suspension and replacement by Ulberg was first reported by the New Zealand Herald and later confirmed by MMA Junkie, although the UFC has yet to make an official announcement.

Rountree’s girlfriend, Mia Kang, revealed the nature of the suspension, explaining the circumstances surrounding the failed drug test.

“The suspension will be for Dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA), a hormone that is banned in and out of competition,” she said.

This revelation adds another layer to the ongoing conversation about banned substances in MMA.

Carlos Ulberg (9-1) has been on a remarkable run, having secured six consecutive victories since dropping his UFC debut. His most recent performance was a 12-second knockout of Alonzo Menifield earlier this month, earning him a Performance of the Night bonus. This impressive streak has positioned Ulberg as a formidable contender in the light heavyweight division.

Jamahal Hill (12-2), on the other hand, is looking to bounce back after a challenging period. Following over a year away from competition due to a ruptured Achilles tendon, Hill returned to action at UFC 300 in April but was knocked out in the first round by Alex Pereira. This upcoming fight against Ulberg provides Hill with a critical opportunity to reclaim his standing in the division and demonstrate his resilience.

With both fighters eager to prove themselves, the new matchup between Ulberg and Hill promises to deliver an electrifying showdown. Fans can expect a high-stakes battle as these two light heavyweights clash in the octagon.
