Conor McGregor Contemplates Political Arena: Eyes 2025 Ireland Presidential Race

Former UFC champion Conor McGregor is making waves outside the octagon as he hints at a potential entry into the political arena, specifically eyeing the 2025 Ireland Presidential race. 'The Notorious' recently re-enrolled in the USADA testing pool, signaling a potential UFC return, but his aspirations seem to extend beyond the cage.

McGregor, renowned for coaching the latest season of The Ultimate Fighter against Michael Chandler this summer, had aimed for a bout with the former Bellator champion in 2023. However, Conor McGregor's coach, John Kavanagh, revealed that the targeted April return at UFC 300 might be off the table, hinting at broader plans for the Irish fighter.

In recent days, McGregor has teased his potential entry into the 2025 Ireland Presidential race through posts on X, including a response to Elon Musk. While he hasn't unveiled a detailed plan, McGregor expressed determination to enter the political fray and make a serious bid for the presidency.

Responding to Elon Musk's post on X, McGregor stated,

"I'd fancy my chances Elon, 100%," outlining the nomination process involving members of the Oireachtas and local authorities. He emphasized the need for absolute transparency and consultation with the public, criticizing the lack thereof in current political practices.

McGregor highlighted his motivation for considering the presidential run, stating,

"This is why I'd run, if I was to. To be a voice of the people that deserve to be heard. President of Ireland is a unique position to other countries but it would demand a response to questioning. Dialect would be so good for us in the public. Our people feel ignored. Unheard. Until of course election time. Then the waffle begins."
