Cory Sandhagen vs. Umar Nurmagomedov set for UFC Nashville

The UFC's bantamweight category is frequently referred to be the best one they have to offer, and this is partly due to the rising prospects and potential competitors.

Umar Nurmagomedov might be the wolf pack's leader. With four victories inside the Octagon, the Dagestani, a cousin of the legendary Khabib Nurmagomedov, has increased his perfect professional record to 16-0.

Nurmagomedov struggled to identify his next opponent, despite the fact that those outcomes allowed him to move up to position #11 on the 135-pound ladder. The 27-year-old, though, now has a target on his back.

The long-rumored matchup between Nurmagomedov and former interim title challenger Cory Sandhagen (16-4) has been officially announced as the main event for the UFC's return to Nashville on August 5.

The fight will provide the Russian a great chance to go up to the top five right away, but the #4-ranked Sandhagen may find it unexpected. The native of Colorado recently defeated two opponents who were ranked higher than Nurmagomedov in two bouts.
