Eddie Hearn thinks Jake Paul should fight KSI and avoid a rematch with Fury

Jake Paul should put off a rematch with Tommy Fury, according to Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn, and instead concentrate on a fight with YouTube competitor KSI.

Paul lost for the first time in his professional career last Sunday in Saudi Arabia when he lost an eight-round split decision to Fury, the younger sibling of WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury.

Paul struggled to handle Fury's boxing style despite knocking him down in the eighth and final round. Fury moved up from light heavyweight to win the cruiserweight fight.

Fury is more than ready to accept Paul's option to use the immediate rematch clause. The biggest financial opportunity for both guys right now is a rematch. Hearn, however, thinks the conflict between Paul and KSI is even more significant.

KSI narrowly defeated Logan Paul, his older sibling, in a decision. Paul (6-1, 4 KOs) had never fought a boxer in the ring before he faced Fury (9-0, 4 KOs). Paul has mostly defeated more experienced MMA fighters in the past.

Hearn believes that Paul is still a very inexperienced boxer and will fall short against any opponent with basic Boxing attributes.

"The rematch, I know people will watch it, but we've seen what they are, not very good… Fight KSI, it's absolutely massive. Because the reality is any time you fight anyone with any ability, you will get beat," Hearn told The DAZN Boxing Show.

"I do respect Jake Paul and I respect him even more after last night. I mean look, he can't fight, he's never gonna be a world champion… What you had was two not-very-good fighters who were quite evenly matched."
