Gilberto Ramirez Makes Promotional Debut with 'Zurd01' Boxing Spectacle

Mexican boxing sensation Gilberto “Zurdo” Ramirez, the trailblazing world super middleweight champion, is set to make history once again as he steps into the promotional ring for his inaugural professional boxing show in Mazatlán, Mexico. Ramirez's company, Zurdo Promotions, is presenting "Zurd01" this Friday night at Cancha German Evers, showcasing a stellar seven-fight card.

The event features undefeated heavyweights from Houston, Zachary Spiller (4-0, 4 KOs), and Danielle Perkins (3-0, 1 KO), the 2019 World Championships (amateur) gold medalist. Adding a local flair, Mazatlán fighters Alfonso Alvarez (2-1, 2 KOs) and Oscar Velez (1-0, 1 KO), along with 23-year-old lightweight Jesus Leon (23-2-2, 19 KOs) from Culiacan, will also take the spotlight.

Expressing gratitude for the opportunity to give back to his hometown, Zurdo Ramirez emphasized the event as more than just a boxing spectacle. He sees it as a bridge, connecting the vibrant city of Mazatlán to the grand stages of the U.S., providing a pathway for young boxers to chase their dreams.

Ramirez, with an impressive record of 45-1 and 30 KOs, is currently the mandatory challenger for the World Boxing Association (WBA) Cruiserweight World Champion. Fresh off a 10-round unanimous decision victory over former world lightweight champion Joe Smith, Jr. (28-4) in their WBA eliminator fight last October, Ramirez continues to make waves both in and out of the ring.
