A Straightweight title fight will be headlining Invicta FC 47 on May 11. In the main event, champion Emily Ducott will defend her title against former nuclear weight champion Alisha Zapatela for the first time.
Coming out of one of the biggest knockouts in the history of Oklahoma's Ducote Invicta, UFC veteran Daniel Taylor was stopped by a head kick and placed in the top 10 of the 115-pound belt and sports center. Ohio native Zappitella is taking part in a pair fight with a Brazilian. Jessica Delboni. Ahead of the pair's second meeting, the 27-year-old announced his plans to move to the Strawweight division and the decorated wrestler will face an immediate test against the division champion.
Ducote will try to defend her first title after winning a gold medal at the Invicta FC 44 on August. Bellator's veteran Daniel Taylor is leading 4-1 in the best knockouts of the year in 2021 with a title-winning head kick.
Meanwhile, Zappitella, 27, tries to make history by gaining weight to challenge Ducote. Former Invicta FC Atomweight champion lost a belt to Jessica Delboni after defending a title in January, and has now chosen to move divisions and pursue a second championship with promotion.
In the Co-Man event of the night, Colorado's Courtney "The Line" King (4-2) clashed with Chelsea Chandler (3-1) of Stockton, California in a featherweight match. King was last seen in action against Invicta FC 43 headliner Olympic gold medalist Kayla Harrison. Chandler rides three straight victories under the Invicta banner.
A pair of New Yorkers meet in the Atom Weight Division as Lindsay "Demsel" Van Zendt (7-5) will compete with "Line Heart" Jillian Decoresi (4-3). The pair had previously met as amateurs in 2016, in which DeCursy declared Van Zend the best by decision.
Former Bantamweight title challenger Lisa "Battle Angel" Verzosa (6-2) is back in action against Serena "The South Pa Out Law" de Jesus (4-2). Verzosa made five rounds in his last outing with reigning champion Tanisha Tennant, while De Jesus won back-to-back victories over UFC veterans Lauren Mرller and Elizabeth Phillips.
Rounding out the fight card, Brazil's Janissa "Evil Princess" Morandin (10-4) competes against the country's Liana "Lee" Perosin (7-4) in the flyweight bout, and boxing Olympian Jennifer "Dagwin". Welcome to Chiang (1-1). Alyssa "Lightning" for promotion on Lindowska (first) Strawweight.
