Joaquin Buckley knows exactly how to fight for a good highlight reel. Buckley rose to prominence when he presented a jaw-dropping knockout in his fight against Impa Kasanganay in October 2020.
Buckley, who lost his last match to Alessio de Cherico, needed a big performance to remind fans of his fight and in the middleweight division, as Buckley entered UFC Vegas 37 on Saturday night.
This is where he encountered Antonio Arroyo, but with a combination of punches Buckley ended it with an upper cut that knocked Arroyo down. The hurdle came in the third round at 2:26 when Buckley won by TKO.
As the fight entered the third round, Buckley kept swinging with bad intentions and throwing with a much larger volume than Arroyo, who was apparently looking for a better shot.
Buckley released a huge hook that made Arroyo look shaky from time to time, and Buckley went for the kill when he threw an upper cut that eventually ended the contest.
Once Arroyo fell on the canvas, the fight was immediately stopped as the ref called the fight and Buckley began celebrating his third UFC victory. The 27-year-old won the Performance of the Night Bonus for his viral knockout.
"It was a beautiful fight between me and Antonio," Buckley said, paying tribute to his opponent. "I was just swinging, I was just throwing."
Now the question is, who should Buckley fight next? FIGHT.TV wants to know!
