Joe Rogan Voices Concerns but Supports Mike Tyson's Decision to Fight Jake Paul
Mike Tyson

Joe Rogan recently shared his thoughts on Mike Tyson's upcoming fight against Jake Paul, expressing mixed feelings about the bout. Tyson, now 58, will step back into the ring for a professional fight on November 15 at AT&T Stadium in Dallas, marking his first professional appearance in nearly two decades. His opponent, social media sensation turned boxer Jake Paul, is 30 years younger and holds a 10-1 record.

Although Rogan admits he’d prefer Tyson not to take the fight, he respects the boxing legend's desire to compete once again. Tyson’s last appearance in the ring was an exhibition match against Roy Jones Jr. in 2020, and now fans are eager to see how he’ll perform in a full professional bout after so many years away from high-level competition.

On a recent episode of “The Joe Rogan Experience” podcast, Rogan made his stance clear:

“I wish he didn’t do it. I wish it wasn’t a thing where a 58-year-old guy was going to fight a 28-year-old. That said, I fully support his desire to do it… Maybe he wants one more shot at it.”

While Rogan admires Tyson’s determination, he raised valid concerns about his physical condition, especially given his age. Rogan noted that Tyson has looked impressive in short clips hitting mitts, but he remains skeptical about how Tyson’s body will hold up throughout a full fight.

“He looks great on the mitts, but... what you want to see is him sparring… Let’s see three rounds hard on the bag,” Rogan added.

Tyson's health has also been a factor leading up to this bout, as the fight was originally scheduled for July but was postponed due to Tyson’s ulcer flare-up. Rogan acknowledged Tyson's extensive experience and fight IQ but questioned how much his body can still endure at 58 years old.

Ultimately, Rogan’s concerns are rooted in Tyson's longevity and well-being, though he remains in full support of the boxing legend's choice to step into the ring one last time.
