Kevin Lee returned to the Octagon about 1.5 years later for the much-anticipated Welterweight showdown with Daniel Rodriguez in Las Vegas.
Lee (18-7 MMA) was back in action for the first time since March 2020 after losing to newly crowned UFC lightweight champion Charles Oliveira. Prior to the blow, the Michigan native had won a thrilling knockout against Gregor Gillespie.
While Daniel Rodriguez (16-2 MMA), on the other hand, entered the nights event with a two-fight winning streak, his previous effort resulted in a TKO victory over Preston Parsons.
Kevin Lee was confident that he would emerge victorious this evening. When the judges scorecards were read, the trio gave Rodriguez two out of three rounds. After the fight, Rodriguez demanded a place in the UFC ranks and offered his services to Dana White, the president of the promotion, if he needed a short notice fighter.
