Longtime UFC broadcaster Laura Sanko is officially the second female colour commentator in UFC history.

anko will make her cageside debut at UFC Vegas 68, which takes place on Saturday at UFC APEX in Las Vegas, according to a Monday announcement from the organisation.

Sanko, a former atomweight MMA fighter, last competed for Invicta FC before beginning broadcast work for the organisation. She made her debut in the UFC in 2016 as a backstage reporter, although she has always had aspirations to work in the commentary box. In a recent press release, she said:

I consider it a true privilege to be part of the team that is a voice to our incredible fans, communicating the fighting art of each man and woman who steps inside the UFC Octagon."

The inaugural UFC event was broadcast by former kickboxing champion Kathy Long in 1993, but Sanko will be the first woman to do so in the Zuffa era. Sanko has called Dana White's Contender Series before, but this will be her first time doing so for a main event.

Laura Sanko will make her commentary debut at the upcoming Apex event, which features a heavyweight fight between KO artist Derrick Lewis and rising contender Serghei Spivac.
