The Legacy Fighting Alliance brought LFA 125 to Seneca Niagara Resort and Casino in Niagara Falls, New York on Friday night. The card topped the women's strawweight title fight, with unbeaten Brazilian Jaqueline Amorim competing against "Nigerian Terminator" Loveth Young.
The main event featured heavy hitter Loveth Young fight for the 2021 LFA Women's Fighter of the Year, the undefeated Jaqueline Amorim LFA Women's Straightweight title. The highlight of the event was that the winner was going to be the fourth champion in the history of the division.
The victory was not without some madness and trouble. In the opening minutes, Young grabbed the cage with both hands in an attempt to take down and quickly deducted a point for fouling referee John England.
Upon the rest, Young pushed Amorim toward the canvas and dropped the bomb. After being shot in the face, Amorim angrily grabbed Young's leg. After a little effort, Amorim managed to torque, which was unbeatable. With that, Amorim tapped Young to win h first MMA title and extended hee final series to five.
Amorim (5-0) defeated Loveth Young (3-2-1) by an 86-second knee bar to win the empty LFA Women's Straightweight Championship and crowned a new Women's Straightweight Champion for the first time.
"I want to be a UFC champion one day," Amorim told MMA junkie in January. "I know I have a lot of work to do. I always keep in mind that I will not just go into the sport and be like another fighter. I really want to be a champion one day. That's what it is. I'm working right now. "
