LFA 127 Full Results and highlight: Diaz vs. Assis

LFA crowned a new middleweight champion, the Legacy Fighting Alliance returned Friday night to its latest offering in Commerce, California, for the LFA 127, which topped the middleweight title race. In the main event, Ozzy Diaz fought a dangerous battle for the empty middleweight title against Bruno Assis.

This event of LFA 127 was very important because it could only be determined by a man with a fast stand-up game against the classic striker vs. Gripper matchup. Diaz (7-1) had put pressure on his opponent from the start of the fight and strengthened his grip on the match, which knocked out his opponent in the first round. Assis (12-6) was punched twice during the exchange and failed to bring the fight to the canvas.

In the opening round, as time went on, Diaz found a home for a hard right hand that put him down for the third time. After a few follow-up punches, referee Frank Trigg saw enough and stopped the fight with only a few seconds left in the first frame. The official time of the knockout stop was 4:53.

Following the contest, LFA CEO Ed Soares announced that Diaz had received an invitation to compete in the UFC for next season's Dana White's Contender Series. Moments after the promotion crowned a new champion in an empty title fight, it will consider hosting another empty middleweight title fight in the near future.

In addition, the source announced the winners of four $ 2,500 bonuses. Chase Gibson vs. Javier Garcia won the Fight of the Night, while Wascar Cruz and Ozzy Diaz won the Home Performance of the Night bonus.
