POMONA, Calif. — April 17, 2026 — The "Olympics of Grappling" witnessed a star-making performance this weekend as Levi Robles, representing the God’s Gladiators team, secured a bronze medal at the ADCC Los Angeles Open. Competing at the Fairplex in Pomona, Robles under the guidance of four-time NAGA World Champion and undefeated professional heavyweight boxer Marcos Andrew Navarro.
"As I walked into the tournament, I saw the famous Jeff Glover—the first American IBJJF No-Gi World Champion—friendly calling out my coach Marcos Andrew to an arm-wrestling match," Robles recalled. "It was clear Jeff already knew about Navarro's strength; Glover could not beat Marcos Andrew Navarro in an arm-wrestling match and I heard glover stating that Navarro is just 'too strong' as they played around and they both smiled recalling there old training days together" Said Robles. That was my first excitement of the event. Walking in from Calexico, it was like I stepped into a place of famous people of the grappling world and right after that, we passed the legendary Jacaré Souza as Navarro walked in front of me leading to way to my first match. I must admit, I was a bit star-struck ." Said Robles.
After a series of intense matches, including losses to Aman Haile (2nd place) of Akagi Jiu-Jitsu and Adrian Vasquez (1st place) from the 10th Planet Los Angeles HQ. Following a "listen or lose" talk from Coach Marcos Andrew Navarro, Robles ( 3rd place) executed a submission exactly as instructed to clinch the victory over Malik Ushurbakiyev of the country of
Kazakhstan, levi's path to the podium included matches against several high-level competitors in the Men / Adult (15+) Beginner -100.0 kg division to secure a 3rd place finish at ADCC los Angeles open. "Levi only being 16 years old and having a submission over Malik Ushurbakiyev 27 years old of the country Kazakstan was my favorite part, being on flograppling live with are American friends watching from home, God's Gladiators making history a teenager winning an adult division at the ADCC that I coached placing 3rd wow this is all breath taking, playing arm Wrestling with Jeff Glover who i trained under for a year, its all worth it, helping a kid from my community is the best part." Said Navarro. In a world of adversity Id like to take the time to give a special thanks to Daisy Acosta a teacher of Calexico high for giving me an opportunity this year to coach under her (girls wrestling) she taught me how to zone out all the distractions , I had such a great time learning her philosophys , she gave me the confidence to go after a world stage medal as a coach. Said Navarro. Gods Gladiators submission fighting team wants to say Thanks to my family and friends for the love and support and FIGHT.TV for the media coverage.👊
