Francis Ngannou has commented after his high profile encounter with Heavyweight champon Tyson Fury.
Many expected Fury to dominate Ngannou, but the MMA star surprised everyone by holding his own against the boxing star for all ten rounds. Ngannou even knocked down Fury with a left hook in the third round, the seventh time Fury has been floored in his career. Ngannou showed his power and skill, but the judges did not reward him. Fury won by a controversial split decision, with one judge scoring it 95-94 for Ngannou, and two judges scoring it 95-94 and 96-93 for Fury.
Ngannou was not happy with the result and took to social media to express his frustration. He also asked for a rematch with Fury in his post-fight interview. Fury’s next fight is supposed to be against Oleksandr Usyk, the unified heavyweight champion, in December. It is unclear if Fury will grant Ngannou’s wish for a second fight.
