They were granted permisión from the WBA to fight but must face each other in the first quarter of 2023. Both champions will fight very dangerous fights, Santa Cruz will face WBC champ Rey Vargas in a unification fight and LeighWood takes on KO artist Mauricio Lara. If both champions get through those tuff fighters they will face eachother. Now my opinión is that one of them wont win because of the level of the opponents. Santa Cruz may get outboxed by the tall and crafty Rey Vargas, or LeighWood gets knocked out by Lara its up in the air but Santa Cruz v.s LeighWood will take longer to make.
