Roy Jones Jr.'s Fighters Ready for Legends Casino fight

Former four-division world champion turned trainer and promoter, Roy Jones Jr., is set to showcase a lineup of his talented fighters at Legends Casino in Toppenish, Washington, on January 25.

Headlining the card is undefeated super middleweight Andrew Murphy, a Yakima native currently residing in Pensacola, Florida. The main event promises a ten-round bout, and Murphy, with a record of 7-0 and 5 knockouts, is known for his entertaining and knockout-seeking style. This will be the twenty-three-year-old's third appearance at Legends Casino, with each previous fight featuring him as the main event.

In the co-main event, German star Ikram Kerwat, the World Boxing Federation (WBF) women’s welterweight champion, will step into the ring. Kerwat, with a record of 13-3 and 5 knockouts, has been under Jones' mentorship since 2017. The thirty-nine-year-old fighter, born in Tunisia and residing in Frankfurt, Germany, boasts an impressive career, winning titles such as the WBC International lightweight, WBC Silver super featherweight, and WBF World welterweight.

Adding to the mix is former Commonwealth Games and Asian Games Silver Medalist, lightweight Mandeep Jangra, hailing from Kharian, India. With a record of 6-0 and 4 knockouts, Jangra has had a successful amateur career and looks to continue his undefeated streak under Jones' tutelage.

Jones expressed his enthusiasm about the event, stating,

“I am very happy to be promoting again back at Legends Casino with my good friend Greg Fritz and the rest of the fine people that work there. Legends provides me and my fighters with wonderful hospitality. I will be bringing with me some treats."

The fight card also features local talent, including a four-round bout between undefeated heavyweights Nicholas Mills (3-0, 2 KOs) from Renton, Washington, and Canada's Brandon Colantino (3-0). In a six-round cruiserweight clash, Union Gap’s Carlos Villanueva (5-3, 1 KO) will face off against undefeated Alberto Rivas (4-0, 1 KO) from Bend, Oregon.

Additionally, a six-round super featherweight bout will showcase the undefeated Luis Gallegos (5-0, 2 KOs) from Mount Vernon against fellow Washingtonian Josue Cadena (3-0, 1 KO).
