Shara Magomedov Dominates Michal Oleksiejczuk in Brutal UFC Abu Dhabi Co-Main Event
UFC Abu Dhabi: Shara Magomedov vs. Michal Oleksiejczuk

Shara Magomedov showcased his striking prowess and relentless aggression as he secured a decisive victory over Michal Oleksiejczuk in the UFC Abu Dhabi co-main event. Despite stepping in on short notice, Magomedov proved his mettle by dominating all three rounds, earning a unanimous decision with scores of 30-27, 30-27, and 29-28.

Magomedov wasted no time in asserting his dominance, utilizing his signature kicks and devastating elbows to keep Oleksiejczuk on the defensive. From the first round, it was evident that Magomedov’s precision and variety of strikes would be a formidable challenge for Oleksiejczuk. By the end of the bout, Oleksiejczuk was left battered and bloodied, struggling to stay upright with cuts around both eyes after enduring 15 minutes of Magomedov's onslaught.

Reflecting on his performance, Magomedov expressed his connection to the Abu Dhabi crowd:

“This is very important for me to fight here because it’s like a home crowd for me. This is just the start for me. I’m happy to win today.” He also made a bold callout, saying, “My next fight I want to call out Nick Diaz. You’re a striker, I’m a striker. Let’s go Abu Dhabi, October.”

The fight started with Oleksiejczuk showing confidence in his power, landing some significant shots on Magomedov. However, Magomedov quickly turned the tide, showcasing his devastating array of kicks and an elbow that opened a deep cut on Oleksiejczuk’s left eye. Despite being pushed onto his back foot, Magomedov continuously launched a variety of strikes, forcing Oleksiejczuk to react rather than attack.

Concerns about Magomedov's conditioning were unfounded as he maintained a methodical pace, allowing him to pick his shots effectively. His speed and unpredictability left Oleksiejczuk struggling to anticipate and counter the strikes coming from all angles. A side kick followed by knees up the middle further punished Oleksiejczuk, who valiantly absorbed the damage and kept moving forward.

In the final moments of the fight, Magomedov unleashed a brutal head kick that Oleksiejczuk somehow survived. Even a late takedown by Oleksiejczuk did little to change the outcome, as Magomedov continued to inflict damage from the bottom with sharp elbows.

With this victory, Magomedov extends his perfect record to 14-0, including three consecutive wins in the UFC. His performance solidifies his status as a rising star and future contender in the middleweight division, showcasing continuous improvement with each fight.
