In 2018, just days before stepping into Madison Square Garden, Canelo Ćlvarez was fighting a battle no one knew about. One of his brothers had been kidnapped in Mexico ā and instead of going to the authorities, Canelo handled it himself.
For three days straight, while still in camp, he was on the phone negotiating directly with the kidnappers to secure his brotherās release.No team. No police. No public knowledge.Just Canelo, carrying a nightmare alone.
