Last Saturday, March 30th, fight fans witnessed a remarkable display of skill, determination, and resilience at Impact Promotions Beatdown and Beats 2. In the spotlight was none other than Johnny Carter III, the 205 pound powerhouse whose victory in just one minute and 37 seconds left audiences in awe. He won the fight with a verbal stoppage from his opponent, tapping to strikes.

Ranked as the top 205-pound amateur MMA weight class in both Florida, Alabama, and the Southeast. Johnny Carter III boasts an impressive record of 11-2 since he began competing in 2020. However, what truly sets Johnny apart is his incredible resilience and unwavering determination, forged through years of adversity and hardship.

For Johnny, the path to success has been anything but easy. From experiencing homelessness to surviving a gunshot wound in 2018, he has faced challenges that would break many. Yet, it was these very challenges that fueled his fire and propelled him towards greatness. Despite his tumultuous past, Johnny found solace and purpose in martial arts from a young age. However, it wasn't until four years ago that he fully committed himself to the sport, driven by the unwavering support and encouragement of his Aunt Angela, mom, step dad, 2 younger brothers at East Mississippi College where one is a corner and other a receiver, his grandmother, late grandfather who passed away on December 27th of 2022, and his faith in God.

With the guidance of his mentors and the support of his loved ones, Johnny has honed his skills tirelessly at Gracie Barra Birmingham under Khalifa Oliveira who is a 2x world medalist in Judo, 20x IBJJF 20x gold medalist and Ray Echols who is a 2x world golden glove champion. He also studies martial arts at 10th Planet Birmingham under Matt Elkins, a college wrestling champ and grappling instructor, and The Cage MMA's Peter Zahel, a 2x world kickboxing. But his dedication extends beyond the gym walls. When he's not training or dominating opponents in the cage, Johnny works as a lab tech at his local hospital, channeling his passion for helping others into his career.

As a proud father of two and a devoted community member, Johnny embodies the values of resilience, compassion, and leadership. He regularly volunteers his time to support the homeless and individuals striving to rebuild their lives, demonstrating a commitment to making a positive impact both inside and outside the cage. He cares about his community and wants the youth out here to have positive role models, ones who can look up to helping others.

Looking ahead, Johnny has his sights set on two upcoming fights, one in Pensacola on June 1st and the other in Birmingham on June 29th. With his unwavering determination and unyielding spirit, there's no doubt that Johnny Carter III will continue to inspire and awe audiences with his remarkable journey both inside and outside the MMA arena.

In a world hungry for heroes, Johnny Carter III shines bright as a beacon of hope, resilience, and unwavering determination—a true testament to the power of the human spirit that inspires us all. It's not long until this guy goes pro, so keep your eyes on him!
