Michael Aswell, 23 years old, "The Texas Kid" was born on September 27, 2000. He embarked on his martial arts journey with the legendary Saul Soliz and, following Soliz's passing, continued his training in Missouri with renowned fighters like James Krause, Derrick Miner, Brandon Moreno, David Onama, and Lucas Brennan.
Aswell is a senior at the University of Houston, majoring in Sports Management with a minor in Business Finance, and is a member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity. He currently trains under Daniel Pineda at The 4 oz Fight Club Gym.
Aswell has an impressive professional record of 9 wins and 1 loss, recently securing a victory over Texas's top-ranked fighter, Nate Richardson, for the Fury FC 145lb world title. He was also the Fury 145 lb Amateur champion before turning professional.
After his recent triumphs, UFC matchmaker Sean Shelby, through Aswell's manager Jason House of Iridium Sports Agency, offered him the opportunity to compete on Dana White’s Contender Series in September or October of this year.
