Tony Ferguson crashes into two cars; gets arrested for DUI

An ex-interim UFC champion has run into some difficulties.

According to TMZ, Tony Ferguson was detained for DUI on Sunday after allegedly colliding with two parked automobiles in front of a Hollywood nightclub. After the collision, Ferguson's truck apparently tipped onto its side, and the current UFC fighter was detained after allegedly rejecting a field sobriety test. Ferguson was "very uncooperative" while on the scene, according to the report, although he was unharmed.

In a statement to MMA Fighting on Sunday, an LAPD official confirmed Ferguson's detention and stated that he had been charged with DUI after flipping his own car and hitting two parked cars.

Online records indicate that Ferguson was detained at the Los Angeles Police Department facility in Hollywood just before 6 a.m. local time after being apprehended about 2 a.m. Ferguson is currently facing a misdemeanour charge, and bail was set at $30,000.

Ferguson was freed on Sunday at 12:12 p.m. Pacific Time, and his next court appearance is scheduled for June 1 in Los Angeles Municipal Court.

Since losing by submission to Nate Diaz in the main event of UFC 279 in September, Ferguson hasn't participated in any competitions. The 39-year-old has dropped five straight fights inside the octagon, including victories by unanimous decisions over Charles Oliveira and Beneil Dariush and submission defeats to Justin Gaethje and Michael Chandler.
