Tyron Woodley Eyes Boxing Match with Manny Pacquiao

Former UFC champion Tyron Woodley is looking to step back into the ring, this time against boxing legend Manny Pacquiao. Woodley, known as 'The Chosen One,' has been relatively quiet in the last few years, especially after being released by the UFC in 2021 following four consecutive losses.

Woodley quickly transitioned to the influencer boxing scene and faced Jake Paul in August 2021, where he suffered a split-decision loss. The two fighters had a rematch in December 2021, which ended in Woodley being knocked out by Paul in a less competitive fight.

Since then, Woodley has been out of action, but that may change soon. Taking to Instagram, Woodley revealed that he was in talks for a boxing match with Manny Pacquiao. Pacquiao, like Woodley, has been inactive since a unanimous decision loss in 2021 against Yordenis Ugas, which led to his announcement of retirement from boxing.

However, Pacquiao has expressed his desire to return to the ring this year, calling out fighters like Ryan Garcia, Gervonta Davis, and Conor McGregor. Woodley's Instagram post hinted at ongoing negotiations with Pacquiao, stating,

“@MannyPacquiao we been fucking around with these numbers for two months. We fighting or what!? You acting like Floyd [Mayweather] and KSI! Capitalizing on clout SMH.”

As of now, Pacquiao has not responded to Woodley's comments, but it's plausible that discussions are underway for a potential bout. However, recent reports suggest that Pacquiao may have shifted his focus to a fight with Conor Benn, with the two even having a face-off in Saudi Arabia earlier this month at the weigh-ins for Anthony Joshua vs. Francis Ngannou.
