Tyron Woodley has admitted that there is only one UFC fighter he would come back to face if he had the chance. Tyron Woodley was a top-notch fighter in the Ultimate Fighting Championship - and maybe in the whole of mixed martial arts - when he was at his peak.
He had a fighting style that allowed him to take on anyone, and he was the UFC welterweight champion. Sadly, he ended his UFC career on a low note, losing four consecutive fights before leaving the organization. He then switched to boxing, where he lost twice to YouTuber Jake Paul.
However, Woodley is not against a UFC comeback, as he revealed in a recent interview.
“The only thing that would make me return to the UFC, the only person I really want to beat up badly is Israel Adesanya,” Woodley said. "I don’t like him. Because he’s fake. He was never Israel Adesanya … how do I say this. I censor myself now.
“Israel Adesanya, on TMZ, they asked me who was the next big thing. I said, ‘I like this Israel kid. He’s kind of different but he has some flair, right? His own personality. He’s flashy but he’s also a good martial artist, so I think he’s the one to look out for,’” he continued. “This was when he just started, right? I already gave you respect.
"Then they asked me who I want to fight. Whoever’s at the top. So, you’re at the top, my brother. That’s a compliment. I never wanted to fight Nick or Nate [Diaz] or [Michael] Bisping or Conor [McGregor] or Georges [St-Pierre] because I thought they were weak, easy or lame. I thought they were the best. To be the best, you have to beat the best.”
