UFC 276 Volkanovski vs Holloway Picks and Predictions

UFC 276 takes place this weekend at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. In the main event, Alexander Volkanovski will face Max Holloway for the third time in the UFC Featherweight Championship. The winner of their co-headlining bout could be called the biggest featherweight in UFC history. This will be the third time the two stars have met.

Alexander Volkanovski vs. Max Holloway

Alexander "The Great" Volkanovski is defending the featherweight title for the third time since the "Korean Zombie" won the Chan Sung Jung in April. Volkanovski took the fight down four times and took a 138-48 lead in the main strike before stopping the fight in the fourth round, with which the fight continued to eat big punches.

Volk has not lost since 2013, winning 21 straight fights (including 11 in a row in Octagon). With victories against Holloway, Chad Mendes, Jose Aldo, and Brian Ortega, the Australian is making a strong case for being considered the greatest featherweight ever.

Volkanovski has a wrestling background and competed in the Rugby League at a semi-professional level, playing for 214 lbs. Now fighting in the 145-pound division, he retains the core strength he brings down with powerful kickboxing and tremendous ground and pounds.

Holloway is 23-6 in his professional career, which began in 2010. Just three years later, he signed a contract with the UFC, a promotion he has fought 25 times. All the losses of his career were in the UFC, but to give him credit, they were all against elite fighters.

In addition to two defeats to Volkanovski, he also lost to Dustin Poirier (twice), Dennis Bermudez, and Conor McGregor. Interestingly, five of the six losses were due to the verdict.

Alexander Volkanovski vs. Max Holloway Prediction

Both fighters fight smart, often taking their fight to the last hour. We expect the same thing to happen in Vegas on Saturday, but which fighter will get the judges' vote? It's getting closer, but Volkanovski's record can't be ignored. He is one of the best fighters in the UFC today, which means it would be a big shock if he lost without his championship belt.
