The BMF title has been making waves in the UFC. Initially introduced in November 2019 when Jorge Masvidal TKO’d Nate Diaz at UFC 244, it was thought to be a one-time event.

However, the belt returned nearly four years later at UFC 291 when Justin Gaethje knocked out Dustin Poirier to claim the vacant title. Gaethje then defended it against Max Holloway at UFC 300 in April, but Holloway secured a knockout victory in the final second of an epic battle.

UFC CEO Dana White recently hinted that the next BMF title fight is in the works. “We’re working on the BMF title right now,” White told during the UFC 302 post-fight news conference.

The BMF title has ignited interest among fighters and fans alike. Holloway is expected to face featherweight champion Ilia Topuria next, who has demanded that the BMF title also be on the line for their fight.

“It doesn’t rub me (the wrong way) at all. I love that people love that belt and want to fight for it,” White commented on Topuria’s request. “We’re working on a lot of stuff right now. Obviously, we’ve got The Sphere coming up (in September). We’ve got Madison Square Garden (in November). We’ve got a lot of big fights coming up around that time, so we’ll get it figured out.”

With major events like The Sphere in September and Madison Square Garden in November on the horizon, these high-profile venues present ideal opportunities for the BMF title to be defended or claimed anew. The anticipation for the next BMF title fight is growing, promising more unforgettable moments in the octagon.

Fans can expect an announcement soon about the next thrilling BMF showdown. Whether it will be Holloway vs. Topuria or another exciting matchup, the excitement for the next BMF title fight continues to build.
