UFC Fight Night 203 hosted a spectacular and thrilling event at the Apex facility in Las Vegas on Saturday. In which not one or two but four fighter got bonus.
In the main event of UFC Fight Night 203, Magomed Ankalaev won by a big unanimous decision against Thiago Santos. The 29-year-old won his eighth consecutive victory under the UFC banner in the UFC Fight Night 203 main event, defeating former title challenger Thiago Santos in a unanimous decision. Ankalaev (16-1 MMA, 7-1 UFC) was approved by the three judges sitting on the edge of the cage at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, as he beat Santos (22-9 MMA, 14-8 UFC) 49-46. Defeated with, 49–46, and 48–47.
From the start, Ankalaev 's speed and counter-attack stood against the mighty Santos. Marreta was an attacker in the early days, but Ankalaev was there to counter most of his opponent's advances.
Santos' willingness to throw for the first time in the second round resulted. He clipped Ankalaev with his left hand, which placed his opponent on a forgettable mat in five minutes.
Marreta showed some more signs of life in the third when his legs started to grow. Ankalaev was still effective at the counter, making it difficult to score.
In the fourth round, Ankalaev finally turned to wrestling. He scored his first take-down attempt and used top control to make the round a clear victory for himself. The fifth round was similar. Although Ankalaev did not secure a take-down, it did use a clutch against Cage to control Santos and win.
It was not the most interesting performance by Ankalaev, but it was effective and efficient. He will continue to see a push as a potential title contender in the light heavyweight division.
Now let's talk about the four fighters who got the $50,000 bonus.
1. Lightweight heavyweight standout Khalil Rountree knocked out Karl Roberson and received a $ 50,000 bonus. Final Round 2 came in just 25 seconds and saw Rountree knock down Roberson and give his ground opponent a brutal physical kick. "War Horse" is now 10-5.
2. Cody Brundage also got a night bonus performance. Middleweight Spectacle suffered a setback from behind Guillotine Square against Dilcha Lungiambula. This is the first UFC win for Middleweight 7-2.
3. The last two performances of the Night Bonus went to Yadong Song, winner of the co-main event, for a spectacular knockout by Marlon Moreas.
4. Azmat Mirzakanov won by a landslide on the first prelim of the night against Tyfon Nachukwi.
