UFC Vegas 55: Holly Holm vs. Ketlen Vieira odds, predictions, betting trends .

Updated: May 22, 2022

The women's bantamweight bout is expected to be the main competition between former UFC women's bantamweight champion Holly Holm and emerging divisional spec Ketlen Vieira.

UFC Fight Night Holm vs Vieira (also known as UFC Vegas 55) is the next mixed martial arts event on the UFC's schedule. The event will take place on May 21, 2022 at the UFC Apex facility in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.

The UFC Vegas 55 Fight Card consists of a total of 11 fights, five of which make up the main card and six previously served as prelims. Khabib Nurmagomedov, the newly-signed and self-proclaimed 205-pound division champion, runs his second octagon under the UFC mantle as he raises his weight to strike Parker Porter.

First of all let's talk about the title of the card:

Holm vs. Vieira preview

Holm, a 40-year-old former boxing champion, joined the UFC in 2015 and finished the final upset at UFC 193 when she defeated Rhonda Rousey for the UFC Bantamweight title.

Following this victory, "The Preacher's Daughter" immediately lost the title to Miesha Tate. She has been 4-5 since Rousey's fight, but 3-1 in her last four. Holm last defeated Irene Aldana in October 2020, winning two fights. She had to fight Norma Dumont and Julianna Pena in 2021, but a knee injury stopped him.

Vieira, 30, 6-2 with the UFC and 2-2 in her last four fights. Vieira last fought in November, defeating Tate by a unanimous decision.

It is a battle between two different periods of MMA with a 10 year age difference between the fighters. Sporting News is here to give you some insights on betting on this Bantamweight fight.

Holm vs. Vieira predication

In this fight against Caitlin Vieira, a fighter whose real strengths vary from fight to fight, I think Holly is the right choice for batting. Vieira is getting good results, and she started her UFC season with four fight wins. However, she does not keep up with the growing level of competition, and in terms of box score, she has lost seven of her eight UFC mice despite winning six. This is definitely not a sign of consistency. You don't make it to the highest level with a significant difference of -1.0, you don't.

In terms of conflict she is so high, less than just two takedowns per minute on a Vieirage, but she does nothing with her high control. In her debut, she loses eight minutes of control time and still loses almost a split decision. It's the same story against Cat Zingano - Ketlen controls the 10-minute fight but barely manages to win the cards. She just doesn't work.

In a slow fight that I think it will happen, I think Holly dusted it off. We've seen that Holly insults playing wall and stall games with opponents if they allow it, and Vieira throws very little volume (barely three punches a minute).

Holidays here are a bit of a hassle for Holly as we last saw her in Octagon in 2020, but given the fact that she looks far ahead of the Mill contenders race, I think she still has the same. Is what is needed to defeat Vieira and make another run on this title before retiring.

To win the battle: Vieira Total rounds: Over 4.5 (-275)
