Top Rank Boxing made it official today that IBF Featherweight World Champion Luis Alberto "Venado" Lopez will be defending his world title when he faces Joet Gonzalez on September 15 in Corpus Christi Texas.
Lopez was crowned world champion by beating Josh Warrington and comes from defending his title against Michael Conlan. Joet Gonzalez will have his third opportunity to be crowned world champion after losing his previous opportunities to champions like Shakur Stevenson and Emanuel "Vaquero" Navarrete.
