Rising undefeated heavyweight puncher Jared Anderson will return to the ring on Saturday night in Toledo, against his most experienced opponent to date - former IBF world champion Charles Martin. Anderson has knocked out all of his opponents. Martin has only been stopped by former two-time heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua. The 23-year-old fighter is promoted by Top Rank, who also guide the career of WBC world champion Tyson Fury. Anderson has trained side by side with Fury, but he's willing to put their friendship aside for a crack at Fury's title. "Without a doubt. It's always business," Anderson told Sky Sports. "I think he's, if not the, but one of the highest paid fighters in the game right now. So by all means. It's a means to an end for me." In his last two fights, Anderson put away experienced foes like Jerry Forrest and George Arias within three rounds - and called for fights with division veterans such as Dillian Whyte and Daniel Dubois. But Whyte and Dubois are not interested in facing Anderson - at least for the moment. "If everybody was competitors as they say, everybody was out to be the best, they would fight," Anderson said. "But they're not."

A representative for Dmitry Bivol always felt Canelo Alvarez was simply using his charge’s name for clout. The WBA light heavyweight titlist from Russia was expected to fight Alvarez in a rematch this fall, but the two sides were unable to come to an agreement on a deal. Bivol’s chief handler, veteran manager Vadim Kornilov, denounced Alvarez last month, for trying to offer his client the “same terms” as the first fight, even though Bivol was the victor. Bivol defeated Alvarez by unanimous decision last year in a 175-pound contest for Bivol's WBA belt. After Bivol’s team balked at his demands, Alvarez quickly turned his attention elsewhere. He briefly flirted with the idea of fighting cruiserweight titlist Badou Jack, before agreeing to a multi-bout contract with Premier Boxing Champions. That union effectively signaled the end of Alvarez’s relationship with Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing, which had promoted the majority of the Mexican superstar’s fights for the past several years. After pulling out of UFC 292, UFC Bantamweight Champion Aljamain Sterling sent Henry Cejudo a message that wasn't exactly encouraging. On August 19th, Cejudo was scheduled to compete in a three-round bout against Marlon Vera at UFC 292. However, he disclosed on Thursday that he had sustained a shoulder injury and would need long rehabilitation, eliminating the possibility of his competing at UFC 292. After a three-year retirement, Cejudo would have made his second appearance in the Octagon. In the UFC 288 main event, he came back to compete against Sterling for the bantamweight title, however he was defeated by split decision. Prior to their battle, Sterling and Cejudo's animosity peaked, however relations seemed friendly in the days that followed. Due to Sterling's recent remarks regarding a speedy turnaround to meet Sean O'Malley at UFC 292, things between them become tense once more. “Henry Cejudo is out of this fight. ‘The savage!’ Remember that? The savage? Texting Dana [White] saying, ‘If that little p**** doesn’t want to fight, I’ll take the fight?’ Isn’t it funny how the roles are reversed now and this ‘little savage’ is no longer a savage? Very interesting,” Sterling said. “For me, I call that being a dirty little weasel. Like most fans Smith believes Benavides should be next in líne for Canelo but Canelo keeps doing what he wants and they let him do what he wants which makes things worst.
