After O’Shaquie Foster’s hard-fought victory over Abraham Nova in New York City, where he successfully defended his WBC super featherweight title via a split decision, the spotlight quickly shifted to a potential showdown with Lamont Roach.

The two fighters, known for their throwback styles, engaged in a heated exchange on social media platform X, with Foster extending a cordial call-out to Roach, who holds the WBA super featherweight title.
Roach Jr., who secured the world title in his last fight with a split decision victory over Hector Luis Garcia in November, hinted at the possibility of facing Foster next.
"It’s talks of me fighting him right now, so if I don’t get lowballed I’m going to break his face," Roach stated emphatically, sending a clear message to Foster.
The 28-year-old from Upper Marlboro, Maryland, even teased Foster about his chances of getting Top Rank CEO Bob Arum to answer his call after his latest performance.
"No more talking," Roach added. "He needs to call Bob, but he probably won’t answer after that performance!"
Roach boasts a professional record of 24-1-1, with nine knockouts, while Foster holds a record of 22-2, with 12 knockouts. With Emanuel Navarrete potentially moving up to lightweight, a showdown between Foster and Roach Jr. could be one of the most anticipated fights in the division.
