Sean O'Malley Talks Meditation, Motivation

UFC bantamweight champion Sean O'Malley, known for his laid-back demeanor, remains unfazed since his knockout victory against Aljamain Sterling in August. The 29-year-old champion is now contemplating his long-term aspirations, which might involve exploring the realm of boxing.

O'Malley recently discussed his holistic approach to life on Episode 262 of the 'Timbo SugarShow,' delving into key elements such as mindset. Emphasizing the importance of purpose in his focus, O'Malley reflected on his upcoming fight against Marlon Vera on March 9 in Miami, describing it as a source of motivation.

"That [fight] gives me my purpose," O'Malley explained, acknowledging the difficulty of staying focused without a set goal.

The champion, with a record of 17-1 in MMA and 9-1 in the UFC, attributes much of his success to his mindset and the practice of meditation.

"If it weren't for my mindset, I wouldn't be the person I am today,"

O'Malley stated, highlighting the transformative power of meditation in dealing with thoughts.

Looking beyond his fighting career, O'Malley envisions larger long-term goals, projecting to retire around the age of 45. With a twinkle in his eye, he shared his vision of being a billionaire, flying on his private jet, and enjoying a jet-setting lifestyle. O'Malley's journey with the UFC began in 2017, rapidly propelling him to superstardom, culminating in a title shot after an upset win over Petr Yan.

Despite a setback loss to Vera that sidelined him for nearly a year, O'Malley bounced back with a five-fight winning streak, ultimately delivering a knockout blow to Sterling.
