Taylor and Serrano Make Weight for Historic Trilogy Bout at Star-Studded New York Card

The stage is officially set for a monumental night in women’s boxing as Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano successfully made weight ahead of their much-anticipated trilogy bout at Taylor vs. Serrano 3, scheduled for Saturday night in New York. This third and possibly final encounter between two of the sport’s most accomplished fighters will see them clash once more for the undisputed super lightweight championship, with the weigh-ins held Friday confirming all 16 fighters on the card are ready for action.

In the main event, both champions came in under the 140-pound limit required for the super lightweight title. Ireland’s Katie Taylor tipped the scale at 135.8 pounds, while Puerto Rico’s Amanda Serrano registered 136 pounds. The two have fought twice before, with Taylor earning decision victories in both previous matchups — the first a razor-thin win at Madison Square Garden in 2022, and the second a more tactical outing that went the distance again. Saturday's fight represents a historic third chapter that could be the final resolution in this rivalry.

Joining the card is another major women’s title bout featuring Alycia Baumgardner, who weighed in at a clean 130 pounds, set to face Jennifer Miranda, who came in at 129.4 pounds. Baumgardner continues her rise as a top figure in the junior lightweight division and will look to defend her status on a global platform, with the event being streamed live on Netflix at 8 p.m. ET.

Also on the main card, Savannah Marshall (167 lbs) and Shadasia Green (167.2 lbs) made weight for their super middleweight clash. Both women are known for their knockout power and physical style, making their fight one of the most anticipated bouts outside the main event.

Ellie Scotney and Yamileth Mercado will meet at super bantamweight, with Scotney hitting the scales at 121.6 pounds and Mercado slightly lighter at 119.6 pounds. Their fight brings together two of the most technically sound boxers in their division.

The prelims, streaming live starting at 5 p.m. ET, also featured a full lineup of competitors successfully making weight:

  • Chemeka Johnson (116.8) vs. Shurretta Metcalf (117)

  • Chantelle Cameron (139) vs. Jessica Camara (139.4)

  • Ramia Ali (121.6) vs. Lila Furtado (121.2)

  • Tamm Thibeault (159.6) vs. Mary Casamassa (156.8)

Each of these athletes made their contracted weight, ensuring a smooth path to an exciting night of boxing that puts the spotlight firmly on women’s talent across multiple weight classes. The card represents one of the most stacked lineups in recent women’s boxing history, both in terms of quality and narrative depth.

For Taylor and Serrano, the stakes could not be higher. With two previous close fights already in the books, a third win for Taylor would cement her dominance over Serrano, while a victory for the Puerto Rican legend would not only even the score but rewrite the final chapter in this compelling rivalry.
