UFC 273 Fight Card Results: Khamzat Chimaev defeats Gilbert Burns (Highlights)

Tonight's UFC 273 event features a highly anticipated welterweight bout involving Khamzat Chimaev against Gilbert Burns. In which Khamzat Chimaev was once again undefeated.

Chimaev (10-0 MMA) has gone 4-0 inside the octagon since arriving at Fight Island. 'The Wolf' in its latest attempt at UFC 267 is winning the first round submission victory over Li Jingliang.

Meanwhile, Gilbert Burns (20-4 MMA) returned to the winning column for the last time after winning a unanimous decision against fellow former Welterweight title challenger Stephen Thompson. This victory was certainly before the defeat of TKO to King Kumar Usman of 170lbs.

After Chimaev competed in his first four UFC fights, he faced a tough test against Gilbert Burns. The former title challenger struggled for Chimaev, usually after a quick start. The 27-year-old initially scored a take-down, but instead of the ground and the pound ending the usual fight, he struggled to keep Brazil down.

In the second round, we saw Chimaev in trouble for the first time. The two went back and forth, but Burns landed with a big right hand that hit his opponent. Dorinho gave the rising star his first losing round.

Chimaev answered any questions about his cardio or heart in the third round. He took a hard right job to take the lead in the crucial round and finally got the decision.

All three judges ruled him out 29-28 as he won the first decision of his professional career. Chimaev, who was awarded the Brazilian Geo Jitsu Purple Belt after the victory, praised Burns for being a consistent opponent.

After seeing Chimaev run into his first four opponents, the fight provided a clear picture of what he could do in Octagon. He's one of the division's elites, but he still has work to do.
