The bout ended when Ortega appeared to dislocate his shoulder trying to dislodge himself from Rodriguez's armbar at the 4:11 mark of the first round.

Rodriguez (14-3 MMA, 9-1 UFC) was hoping to earn a shot at UFC featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski with a win, but with the unexpected result, it's unclear if that will come to pass.
Meanwhile, Rodriguez said he'd be happy to one-day rematch Ortega (15-3 MMA, 7-3 UFC), a man he considers a friend, but hopefully with the title on the line. Will be.
