With the Spence v.s Crawford fight at the end of the month I cant help but remember the big P4P fight when I was a kid. It was the Chavez v.s Whitaker fight. I believe it was the biggest fight of the decade but honestly the fight wasnt that exciting. I have to admit Whitaker put on a máster boxing class on Chavez. Chávez frankly didnt know how to cut him off to get him. Whitaker was on another level that night, both were great in a time of lions. The level of the boxers back in the day was very high. Both were a little past their prime but were still at the top and champions. The Chavez v.s Whitaker fight ended in controversial draw. Many newspapers and magazines of that time declared the fight to be a robbery. Everyone saw Whitaker the clear winner of that fight. A little after that fight Chavez lost for the very first time in 89 fights to rugged Frankie "The surgeon" Randle. That day México cried for their champ loosing , but thats another story. Zuckerberg and business billionaire Elon Musk have teased a potential cage fight this year, a notion that UFC President Dana White has taken seriously. Musk and Zuckerberg have both been spotted working out hard in anticipation of the probable confrontation. Volkanovski defeated Yair Rodríguez in the UFC 290 event this past weekend. Kevin Lee revealed the reasons behind his retirement at the age of 30. Lee shocked many fans on Tuesday morning when he posted a brief message on the new social media platform Threads to declare his retirement. He then explained his decision to retire from MMA at 30 years old on Instagram. Kevin Lee said he was proud of his career as he always faced tough opponents, but injuries have forced him to hang up his gloves. “Okay, to make a long story short, I’m deciding to retire from MMA and the UFC. It’s been 12 years, 12 long years of me being the best fighter that I can be and a lot of hard work and a lot of dedication for me to try to be the best fighter in the world,” Kevin Lee said on Instagram. “When I look back on it, I had a hell of a career. I fought a lot of tough guys and some of the toughest guys in the world. I’ve always put up a great fight “It’s been a lot of injuries and honestly, that’s one of the main factors of me making this decision. I’m in need of another surgery after that last fight,” Kevin Lee continued. “I’m proud that I went out on my shield, I’m proud that I stood up in there and went out on my own terms. But at this point, I have to think about more than just myself and my skills. I think my skills and the time and energy that I put in this sport, I can put into something else, and God willing, Alhamdulillah and all glory to God, he’s going to lead me down a different path, the right path to where I can use my skills to help people. Kevin Lee finished his MMA career with a record of 19-8. In his career, he battled for the UFC’s interim lightweight title and owns important wins against Edson Barboza, Michael Chiesa, Diego Sanchez, and Gregor Gillespie among others.

On a day like today, but in 2009, the boxer Arturo Gatti was found dead. When talking about Arturo Gatti, we are talking about a boxer who had a professional career of 16 years, he was IBF Super Featherweight, WBC Super Lightweight and AIB Welterweight world champion. He fought 10 world championship fights, winning 8 and losing only 2 times. Gatti faced boxing legends like Floyd Mayweather JR and Oscar De La Hoya. Unfortunately, on July 11, 2009, Gatti was found dead in a hotel in Pernambuco, Brazil. The Brazilian authorities ruled the cause of death as suicide, but to this day it is not known for sure what exactly happened, since there is also the theory that Gatti would have been murdered by his wife. A mystery surrounds his death and we may never know exactly what happened, what is true and we know is that on a day like today but in 2009 Arturo Gatti lost his life. Andrés Lara

Promoter Eddie Hearn commented the following for BoxingNews "We made an offer to Dan Azeez and he decided not to take it, we're going to make an offer to Anthony Yarde and Queensberry for that fight, which I like but we'll see." Anderson nicknamed the Big Baby is one of the best prospects in the heavyweight division and he is currently the WBO International and WBC North American champion. In his last fight Anderson defeated former world champion Charles Martin. Rudenko is a boxer with a lot of experience, who has been the WBC silver international champion and has faced boxers such as Lucas Browne, Agit Kabayel, Zhilei Zhang, Alexander Povetkin among others.
