- Albazi's Razor-Close Win Over Kara-France Sets Stage for Title Shot
Amir Albazi showcased his determination and skill in a razor-close split decision victory over Kai Kara-France in the thrilling main event of UFC Vegas 74. The hard-fought battle left fans on the edge of their seats, and now Albazi is calling for a shot at the gold. Throughout the fight, both fighters displayed their strengths, making it a back-and-forth spectacle. While Kara-France exhibited superior hand speed and accuracy on the feet, Albazi's power punches and forward aggression seemed to sway the scorecards in his favor. His relentless pursuit of control in the center of the octagon forced Kara-France to fend off takedowns. āI know it was a close fight,ā Albazi said following the win. āItās not how I planned this fight to go. I showed my guts. I showed what I can bring to the table. Iām just having fun, maybe a bit too much fun. āNext time I come in, I like to put on finishes. A win is a win but next time Iāll put on a better show. In the third round, Albazi nearly secured victory with a submission attempt, locking in a rear-naked choke. Kara-France, however, showed tremendous resilience, escaping the hold, and even launching a counterattack. The momentum seemed to shift, but Albazi's dominance throughout the fight couldn't be ignored. With this hard-earned win, Albazi extended his undefeated streak in the UFC and secured his sixth consecutive victory overall. Now, he has his sights set on the ultimate prizeāthe flyweight title. Albazi eagerly awaits the outcome of the upcoming title bout between Brandon Moreno and Alexandre Pantoja at UFC 290 in July. āThere is only one thing I want,ā Albazi shouted. āI will get that title. Thatās all that matters. Abu Dhabi, Oct. 21, I know theyāre coming to Abu Dhabi, thatās my people. āGive me that fight, [Alexandre] Pantoja-[Brandon] Moreno, whoever wins that fight, I want to be next. Iām next. Letās go.ā Although the win over Kara-France may not have been the emphatic statement Albazi desired, it was undoubtedly the biggest triumph of his career. Defeating an established contender like Kara-France solidifies Albazi's position among the elite in the division and sets the stage for a potential title shot. As the dust settles and Albazi basks in the glory of his hard-fought victory, the anticipation builds for his next challenge. Will he face Moreno, the current champion, or Pantoja, a formidable contender? Albazi's exceptional performance against Kara-France has undoubtedly earned him a place in the title conversation.

- Lewis the last undisputed heavyweight champion.
Its been a long 20 years since we last saw the last undisputed heavyweight champion the great Lennox "The Lion" Lewis fight in his last fight against Vitali Klitschko, another great that between him and his brother Vladimir would dominate and hold all world titles hostage between the 2 till Vitali retired and the WBC title went vacant and Wilder won it beating Stevern in a 12 decisión. Since Lewis there hasnt been a champ to have all the belts at once (WBC,WBO,WBA,IBF). We are close to have it, Oleksandr Usyk has 3 (WBO,IBF,WBA) . With only Tyson Fury holding the WBC. Many fans hope to see that fight soon to have an undisputed heavyweight champion again. Lewis was a great fighter beating all the best fighters in his time. Klitschko, Tyson, Holifield, Briggs, Botha, Tua, Mercer, Rahman and the list goes on and on.
- Boxing has changed.
In the past 4 years we have seen a dramatic change in boxing. You now see popular YouTubers pulling more ratings and selling more PPV buys than some of the best boxers today. The perfect examples are the Davis v.s Garcia and Haney v.s Loma fights. Haney and Lomas fight had alot more quality and it was an all out war and with very little PPV buys, with only 130,000 buys. Now look at 1,300,000 PPV buys from the Davis v.s Garcia fight. Now it was a good fight on paper which boxing fans did want to see but , lets be honest Ryan Garcia is very popular on social media and I really believe that helped even more sell the fight. Another example that popularity is helping more than skill to pull millions in each fight, look at Jake Paul and his last fight with Fury. That fight did very well in PPV just like all of Jake Paul's fights. Love him or hate him the guy knows how to sell, and with millions as his fan base he is guaranteed to sell alot. So I believe we will see alot of more changes in boxing, we also now see popular mma fighter coming to boxing. As a fighter Im happy boxing is getting popular again but for the naysayer's they will have to get used to this new boxing era where a YouTuber can sell more than a P4P fighter.

- Tyson Fury receives a new challenge
While speculation about Andy Ruiz Jr. and Demsey McKean for Tyson Fury's next fight continues, one of the heavyweight division's most contentious rivals has entered the fray. Tyson hasnāt fought since beating Derek Chisora back in Dec 2022 and has ever since been looking for an opponent. Jarrell Miller, 26-0 has recently suffered a number of protracted suspensions as a result of ongoing drug testing concerns. "You know who the only best, and biggest, option is, it's your boy 'Big Baby' right here man.ā Nothing personal to this business, you have people call my people, work on them dollar signs, and then we get it cracking. 'Gypsy King' versus.'Big Baby', got a nice ring to it. Yeah, it'd be my official honor to beat your a**." Who will Tyson Fury Fight next? Comment and let us know.
- Justin Gaethje reveals the end of a career timeline
Justin Gaethje, the explosive lightweight fighter, has revealed his timeline for retirement, emphasizing that he won't risk his health forever. With over a decade in MMA under his belt, Gaethje understands the inevitable reality that no fighter can compete indefinitely. In a recent interview with MMA Fighting, he outlined his ideal future in the sport. At 34 years old, Gaethje believes that three more years would be an appropriate timeframe before bidding farewell to the world of MMA. āI would like to say that at 37 I would like to not be doing this anymore,ā Gaethje said. āIām 34 now. Two, three years is a long time, but in the grand scheme of things, itās not that long. Iāve been doing this 12, 13 years. So ultimately it is the backend of my career in this sport. Thatās just the train of thought I have.ā Currently gearing up for his main event clash against Justin Gaethje at UFC 291 next month, Gaethje aims to avenge his 2018 loss. While no official world title will be up for grabs in Salt Lake City, Utah, the coveted "BMF" title awaits the victor. Gaethje is well aware of the dangers of overstaying one's welcome in the fight game, witnessing fighters who suffered unnecessary damage due to lingering past their prime. Conversely, he's also seen talented individuals leave prematurely. Gaethje hopes that retiring in three years will strike a harmonious balance between these two scenarios. āIāve been a huge fan of this sport. Iāve followed so many athletes. Iāve seen examples of people fighting too long, people quitting too early, [and] people stopping at just the right moment. Iād like to fall into that just the right moment situation.ā Regarded as a fan favorite, Gaethje's aggressive style has earned him a remarkable 11 fight night bonuses, placing him among the promotion's all-time leaders in that category. As a long-time competitor in the UFC's lightweight division, his recent victory over Rafael Fiziev has propelled him to third place in the division's official rankings. Gaethje makes no secret of his primary motivation: winning the world title. While the forthcoming "BMF" belt he's competing for does not count, a shot at the ultimate championship is what fuels his passion. If that opportunity seems elusive, Gaethje may consider his exit from the sport. āAs soon as I donāt believe I can be the best in the world with the skills I possess, then I donāt see any reason to go in there and risk what weāre risking with each and every fight,ā he said. Having held the interim title in 2020 after defeating Tony Ferguson at UFC 249, Gaethje faced a title unification loss against Khabib Nurmagomedov later that year. Another championship opportunity came his way, but he was bested by Charles Oliveira in a bout last year. With Gaethje's retirement clock ticking, fans can expect the lightweight powerhouse to leave no stone unturned as he sets his sights on victory and potentially the world title. As his storied career approaches its final chapter, Gaethje's explosive fighting style and relentless pursuit of greatness continue to captivate fans around the globe.

- Gervonta Davis ordered to complete a hit-and-run sentence in jail
Gervonta Davis, the 135-pound boxing contender, has been ordered to complete his hit-and-run sentence in jail, according to recent reports. Davis had been serving 90 days of home detention for his involvement in a hit-and-run incident earlier this month. However, an unexpected hearing took place, leading to his arrest and subsequent imprisonment at Baltimore Central Booking. The details surrounding why Judge Althea Handy changed Davis' sentencing remain unclear. Earlier in May, Davis received a suspended prison sentence of two-plus years, contingent upon fulfilling certain requirements, including 200 hours of community service and three years of probation. The boxer had been serving his home detention at his trainer's residence, but now he will be spending the rest of his sentence behind bars. This turn of events comes after Handy initially allowed Davis to avoid jail time, despite expressing criticism over his refusal to apologize to one of the individuals injured in the crash. "Three words: 'I am sorry,'" Handy stated, emphasizing Davis' lack of remorse. Davis had pleaded guilty in February to four out of the 14 misdemeanor counts he was indicted for, which allowed him to avoid a trial. The hit-and-run incident occurred in November 2020 when Davis, driving a Lamborghini Urus SUV, left a restaurant in downtown Baltimore and veered away from a police escort. He ran a red light and collided with a Toyota Solara, causing significant damage to the vehicle. Davis and his companion reportedly fled the scene on foot but were later identified as the individuals involved through witnesses and surveillance videos. The collision resulted in four adults being transported to a nearby hospital, with the driver of the Toyota suffering the most serious injuries. Fortunately, all victims survived, although the woman who was driving the Toyota experienced complications during her recovery. State's Attorney Marilyn Mosby emphasized the importance of holding reckless drivers accountable for their actions, especially when innocent lives are put at risk. Davis, an undefeated fighter with an impressive record of 29 wins and 27 knockouts, had recently triumphed over Leo Santa Cruz and Ryan Garcia in high-profile matches. Now, with Davis ordered to complete his sentence in jail, the boxing world awaits further developments in this case. The outcome serves as a reminder that actions have consequences, even for those in the public eye, and highlights the importance of accountability and responsibility both inside and outside the ring.
- Usyk vs Dubois targeted for August 26 in Wroclaw
The battle for the unified heavyweight championship between Oleksandr Usyk and Daniel Dubois will now happen two weeks after the initial scheduled time. There is a legitimate explanation for the brief delay. The fight will now take place on August 26 at Stadion Wroclaw (Tarczynski Arena Wroclaw) in Wroclaw, Poland, according to Alex Krassyuk, Usyk's longtime promoter and the head of K2 Promotions-Ukraine. The event will now take place on August 24, Ukraine Independence Day, and 24,000 people are anticipated in the densely Ukrainian-populated area. Wroclaw is home to many Ukrainians,ā Krassyuk told TVP Sport. āThe fight will take place at the stadium for 24,000 people. We had to change the date from August 12 to August 26. Because it is Ukraine's Independence Day. It's the perfect date to set up a fight with Dubois. We couldn't waste it.ā The WBA, IBF, and WBO heavyweight belts that Usyk (20-0, 13KOs) won after defeating Anthony Joshua in September 2021 will be up for second defence in North London. Usyk, a 2012 Olympic gold winner for Ukraine and the former undisputed cruiserweight champion, prevailed again in their rematch on August 20 but had to settle for a bizarrely scored split decision to keep the championships. Following the breakdown of negotiations for an outright championship fight against lineal/WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury (33-0-1, 24KOs), he decided to defend his title against Dubois (19-1, 18KOs). Months of teasing about a possible springtime collision between the two sides never materialised.
