The legendary Cuban superstar of the 1930s Kid Chocolate (real name Eligio Sardinias) died in his hometown of Havana in 1988 yesterday it would be 35 years without him, He was 78 years old.
He went 55-0-1 before losing to Jack 'Kid' Berg by a 10-round split decision in 1930.
Chocolate won the world super-featherweight championship in 1931 with a seventh-round knockout of Philadelphia's Benny Bass becoming the first Cuban to win a world title.
