Chris Eubank Jr wants to have a rematch with Liam Smith

Chris Eubank Jr. spoke with Sky Sports about his opinion on what happened in the ring and his next steps shortly after his unexpected fourth round stoppage loss to Liam Smith.

According to Eubank Jr., he feels he had complete control of the fight up until Smith's brief barrage put him in danger. Eubank Jr. claims he still has the ability to compete in the bout, but he is now looking forward to a future rematch.

“A tough night? No, I wouldn’t even say that. I was having fun, I was landing my shots, I was enjoying the moment, and he caught me with a once in a lifetime shot. I got up, I recovered, he put it on me again, a few more shots, and the referee decided it was enough.
“I feel like I was dominating the fight before that happened, so I think we’ve got an exciting opportunity — at some point in the future — have that rematch."

“It’s boxing, it’s a sexy sport. Anything can happen. I never would’ve believed this could happen. I think a lot of people didn’t see this happening and it happened, and that’s okay. I’m okay with it. It’s a part of the journey, and I’ve still got a lot left.”

“Full respect to Liam, he did what he was supposed to do. He stayed in there, took some great shots, kept coming, and he landed. We’ll see what happens in the future.”
