Kyoji Horiguchi Signs With Bellator

Kyoji Horiguchi signs with Bellator MMA after vacating the RIZIN bantamweight title.

Welcome to Fight.TV for news and analysis from around the world on all things combat sports.

Current RIZIN bantamweight champion Kyoji Horiguchi announced on Wednesday that he would open his bantamweight belt for the first time since leaving the UFC in 2017 and would test the free agency.

Belator president Scott Cooker announced Thursday night that the promotion had formally agreed to bring Horiguchi into the organization.

Horigochi (29-3) is considered one of the best bantamweights on the planet and for good reason. The former UFC title challenger has done nothing but wreck shop since leaving promotion in 2017, beating the likes of Darren Caldwell, Ian McCall and Manuel Cape.

He is now being thrown into a crazy bellator bantamweight division, where he will have to fight the likes of Raufon Stout, Juan Arculetta, Pechi Max, and Magomed Magomedov to name just a few fighters at 135.

Although there is no current timetable for Horiguchi's next fight, Promotion is talking about holding the Bellator Bennett Grand Prix in early 2022 after the end of its light heavyweight tournament. If so, Horigochi will clearly be a big favorite to reach the card.

The question arises as to whether Horigochi will be able to regain his position, and who will be Horigochi's first victim?

Please let us know what you think. We look forward to hearing from you.
